Balancing Braids, Boots, & Bible Study

Life Lately at Madi & Mane

If you’ve been in my chair lately, you know a lot is happening outside of the salon. Between Avery’s soccer season just kicking off, youth rodeos (we just wrapped rodeo weekend #2!), and trying to sneak in a trail ride with Mason for some much-needed downtime, life feels like a full braid of commitments.

Balancing it all isn’t easy. Turning off “work Madi” and being fully present at home is something I still have to work on daily. But here’s what keeps me grounded:

Where I Find My Balance

Faith First. My Sundays start in church - it’s my resest button for the week. But life doesn’t always make it easy to be there in person. When I can’t, I lean on my Bible app and dive into study plans that keep me connected. Me and Mason also try to get to Bible study at church whenever we can. No matter how busy things get, we always make it a priority to keep our faith strong in everything we do.

Family + Downtime. Trail ride with Mason, cheering on Avery at soccer, and those moments where the phones go down and the conversations come alive - that’s where life feels most full.

Grace in the Chaos. Not every day goes as planned (trust me, hair emergencies happen and so do late soccer practices). But staying confident in my skills, leaning into my faith, and giving myself grace makes it all work.

Stylist Tip: Finding Your Reset Routine

Just like we deep-condition our hair, we all need to deep-condition our lives. Here are three ways you can find your reset:

  1. Pick your non-negotiable. For me, it’s Sunday church. For you, it could be journaling, yoga, or even a solo coffee date.

  2. Plan “Pocket Downtime.” It doesn’t have to be a full day - even 20 minutes for a walk or reading can refuel you.

  3. Stay rooted in gratitude. On the hard days, naming 3 small wins shifts your mindset (and keeps you from spiraling into overwhelm).

Why I Bring Faith Into the Suite

For me, faith isn’t something that stays at home on Sunday mornings - it comes with me into the suite every single day. It’s the steady reminder that this career, this space, and every guest in my chair are blessings that started with Him.

On the tough days - when schedules shift, color formulas get tricky, or life just feels heavy - leaning on my faith keeps me grounded, calm, and confident. It’s what helps me show up fully for my clients, not just as a stylist, but as someone who wants them to leave feeling cared for inside and out.

If you’re looking for encouragement in your own faith journey, I’ve linked a few of my favorite Bible Study Plans below. They’re short, simple, and perfect for fitting into busy days:

Shifting Into October

WhateverAs September wraps up, I can already feel the shift - cooler mornings, busier schedules, and that crisp little hint of fall in the air. October is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s a season of tradition: new routines, new colors (both outside and in the salon), and plenty of opportunities to reset before the holiday rush hits.

In October here on The Mane Edit, I’ll be sharing:

  • Fall hair care tips to protect your mane from dry air + chilly weather

  • A peek at upcoming events and fun things happening at Madi & Mane

  • More behind-the-scenes moments of balancing life, Faith, and family

So grab your cozy blanket and pumpkin (or caramel) latte - we’re stepping into a new season together, and I can’t wait to bring you along. it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Until next time, keep shining inside and out.

Madi 💛
